How do I turn notifications on or off?

Updated 14 October 2026

When you first sign in, ReceiptWave explains what notifications are for and asks whether you'd like them. Your phone only asks for permission if you tap Turn on notifications, and you can tap Not now instead. You can change your mind at any time in your phone's Settings.

  1. After you sign in and read how claiming works (and "Got a paper receipt?", if you see it), the app shows Turn on notifications? with what we'll tell you about: when your receipt is ready, when you earn a stamp or a reward, when a reward is about to expire, and when a business you buy from has an offer or some news.
  2. Tap Turn on notifications, then Allow when your phone asks. Or tap Not now to go straight to your receipts.
  3. If you tapped Not now, the app asks once more, no sooner than 30 days later. Closing the screen another way — swiping it away, or your phone's back button — counts the same as Not now. If you see it a second time and don't turn notifications on, or tap Don't Allow when your phone asks, the app won't ask again.
  4. To turn notifications on later, or off at any time, use your phone's Settings:
    • iPhone: Settings, then Notifications, then ReceiptWave, then Allow Notifications.
    • Android: Settings, then Apps, then ReceiptWave, then Notifications. (The names can differ a little between phone makers.)
