What happens when ReceiptWave changes its terms?
Updated 22 October 2026
If we change the terms you have agreed to, we tell you at least 28 days before the change takes effect. Until that date, the terms you already have keep applying. When the new terms take effect, your business's Owner will be asked to accept them: only an Owner can accept the terms for the business.
- When we announce a change, we email your business's contact email address. The email says: "Our terms are changing on the date. Nothing changes until then.", with a link to read the new terms.
- While the change is on its way, a blue notice appears on the app's Home screen and at the top of the web portal: Our merchant terms are changing on the date it takes effect.
- Tap Read what is changing to read the new version. The page tells you the date it takes effect.
- Nothing changes for you until that date. You keep using ReceiptWave as normal.
- On the date, the new terms take effect at midnight, Sydney time, and you will be asked to accept them. In the app and in the web portal, you will see the terms to accept before anything else. You can also tap Sign out instead, which takes you back to the welcome screen.
If you're staff and it says "Your business's Owner needs to accept the updated terms."
Only an Owner can accept the terms for the business, so there is no button for you to accept them. You can still read them. Ask your business's Owner to accept them in the app or the web portal. Once they have, close and reopen the app, or sign out and sign back in (on the web portal, reload the page), and you can carry on working.
If the app says "We could not load your terms of service"
The app could not reach us to check your terms, and it has no record of you accepting them. Check your connection and tap Try again, or tap Sign out.
If a banner says "We could not check for terms updates"
You have already accepted our terms, so you can keep working as normal. The app could not reach us to check for changes and will try again shortly. If it still cannot check after three days, it will ask you to connect before you carry on.
