Leave a clear record of the job

When a customer pays on site, give them a digital receipt showing the agreed work and payment details, and make that record easy to retrieve later. Customers can choose to follow your business for seasonal maintenance availability and an easy way to get back in touch.

1 · What changes at the job

Take payment through Square as you do now. The customer taps the portable ReceiptWave stand to collect a receipt carrying your business details, a description of the work, GST and your ABN. You can resend it later to a recipient the customer nominates. A payment receipt is not a quote, an unpaid invoice or a completion certificate — acceptance for a claim depends on the recipient’s requirements.

Connect ReceiptWave to Square to add tap-to-collect receipts and customer follow-up.

Setup takes under five minutes: connect your Square account, and connected sales flow through to ReceiptWave. Nothing changes at the till — staff take payment exactly as they do now.

2 · What to switch on, in this order

Feature Why it matters here Do this
Digital receipt One tap after payment on a portable stand. No receipt book, no carbon paper. Keep the stand in the van.
Work description on the record The job, the amount paid and the tax treatment, so the record is useful months later. Describe the work, not just the total.
Resend a record Send it again to a recipient the customer nominates, for their own claim or records. Keep it on your phone.

3 · First action, and how to measure it

What the subscription needs to earn

The main value here is administration: measure minutes spent writing and reissuing receipts, and the value you assign to that time.

No payback figure is published: job contribution needs materials, travel and your own time, which vary by job.
